Michael Bay Biography

Michael Bay is an American Filmmaker known for producing a high-cost budget and directing. He has produced a number for films such as Armageddon and Transformers. Pearl Harbour making him one of the successful directors in history. He was born on February 17th, 1965 in Los Angeles. He also co-owns Platinum Dunes a production house for horror movies such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Hitcher Friday the 13th  and Night on Elm Street.

He was born on 17th February 1965 (54 years as of 2018 ) Michael was adopted by the Bay` when he was still a young child. His adoptive father, Jim Bay, was an Accountant, while his foster mother, Harriet Bay, was a medical doctor. Michael has no siblings but he has a cousin named Susan Bay.

Michael Bay Career

Michael got into the industry when he was fifteen with George Lucas which he was filing the storyboards for Raiders of the Lost Ark. He graduated in 1986 from Wesleyan University with a major in English and Film. The graduate work he attended Art Centre College of Design in Pasadena and also studied Film there. He began working at Propaganda Films directing music videos and commercials. Coca-cola was impressed by his 90 second World War 2 and was picked by Capitol Records.
His success in music videos got the attention of Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson and he was selected to direct his first film Bad Boys. It was shot in 1994 starred by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. This film led to a strong friendship and partnership with Jerry Bruckheimer.
In 1998 collaborated with Jerry Bruckheimer again as a co-producer and directing the film Armageddon.
2001 Bay directed Pearl starring Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett. He also ventured on his journey alone producing other movies alone such as The Island starring Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson. He later teamed up with Steven Spielberg to produce Transformers. Which performed very well in the industry. Although he received negative views from critics.
