Mark Zuckerberg  is an American technology entrepreneur and philanthropist. Zuckerberg is known for co-founding and leading Facebook as its chairman and chief executive officer.  Zuckerberg was Born in White Plains, New York, he attended Harvard University, where he launched Facebook from his dormitory room on February 4, 2004, with college roommates Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes.

He took the company public in May 2012 with majority shares. They annunced on their Chinese New Year video published on February 6,2016 that their daughter Maxima official Chinese name is Chen Mingyu. Later the couple welcomed their second daughter in August 2017.

When he was applying for a college he stated that he could read and write French, Hebrew,Latin and ancient Greek. Zuckerberg was a captain of the fencing team.

Zuckerberg launched Facebook from his Harvard dormitory room on February 4, 2004 the inspiration for facebook may have come from Philips Exeter Academy, the prep school from which Zuckerberg graduated in 2002. The school was publishing its own student directory, The photo Address Book, which student referred to as “The Facebook”, Photos directories were an important part of the student social experience at many private schools. The Directories helps the student to list attributes such as their class years, their friends and thier telephone numbers.

Zuckerberg’s Facebook started as a Harvard thing until he decided to spread it to other schools, enlisting the help of roommate Dustin Moskovitz. They began spreading it to Columbia University, New York University, Stanford, Dartmouth, Cornell, University of Pennsylvania, Brown and Yale.

Together with his friend Moskovitz and some friends moved to palo Alto, California in Silicon Valley where they leased a small house that served as an office. During Summer Zuckerberg met Peter Thiel who invested in the company. The company had first office in mid 2004.

Zuckerberg reported that the group had planned to return to Harvard but eventually decided to remain in California. He explained why they had turned down the offers by major corporations by saying that “Its not because of the amount of money. For me and my colleagues, the most important thing is that we create an open information flow for people. Having media corporations owned by conglomerates is just not an attractive idea to me.”

On December 1, 2015 when Zuckerberg and Chan announced the birth of their first daughter Max, in an open letter to Max, the couple pledged to donate 99 percent of their Facebook shares, then valued at US$45 billion, to the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, their new organization that will focus on health and education. The donation was not to be given immediately, but over the course of their lives. Instead of forming a charitable corporation to donate the value of the stock to, as Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Larry Page, Sergey Brin and other tech billionaires have done, Zuckerberg and Chan chose to use the structure of a limited liability company which drawn criticism from a number of journalists.

On August 28, 2017, the couple announced the birth of their second daughter and they also signed The Giving Pledge.
