Lisa also has two sisters and a brother namely, Tanya Vidal (an American actress, screenwriter, film director and producer of Puerto Rican descent).

Christiana Vidal (is an American actress, singer and producer who rose to fame for her roles in films such as Freaky Friday, Life with Mikey, Brink!, and See No Evil and for her role in Nickelodeon sitcom Taina, in which she played the title character from 2001 to 2002) and Christian Vidal (an Argentine guitarist, member of the symphonic metal band Therion).

Lisa Vidal had been having lower abdominal pain which she thought was urinary tract infection. She went to the doctor after having visited her sister in San Francisco, who also had breast cancer. “Cancer runs in my family,” says Vidal, acknowledging her mother Josie had the disease too. Vidal’s doctor did a full examination-a mammogram and an ultrasound.

While the mammogram didn’t up any abnormality, unlike the ultrasound which did. She had a biopsy taken for examination. Vidal underwent surgery the next month after which she chose a double mastectomy because she didn’t want to worry about the breast cancer coming back. “It may have been drastic for some people but it was the right choice for me,” says Vidal, an ultrasound advocate, who had breast reconstruction in April 2016.
