Lauren Magiera Biography
Lauren Magiera is an American sports anchor and reporter from Chicago, she works with WGN News since April 2016. Lauren is the station’s first female sports anchor. Before coming to WGN, she worked at the NFL Green Bay Packers as a co-host of a weekly 30 minute pre-game show.
Magiera went to the University of Alaska Anchorage where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Communications.

Magiera worked for many stations in a sports capacity, she joined ABC Alaska KIMO/FOX in 2008, as the station’s sports director. She worked here for almost 2 years then moved to NBC Alaska KTUU, here she worked as a sports reporter. Magiera then went back to Midwest, at ABC Wausau WAOW-TV in Wisconsin. She took the job of a sports director-producer-reporter, after that she joined Green Bay Packers.
Lauren, in Green Bay Packers, was a co-host of a 30 minute pre-game show which occurred once a week, she co-anchored with Packers Hall of Famer Larry McCarren. She then, in April 2016, joined the WGN News team, being their first female sports anchor and reporter. She is a Chicago native.
