She is the daughter to Harriet Yuellig and Jerald William Hagerty Jr. Her brother, Michael Hagerty, was also an actor. The parents later divorced. She attended Indian Hill High School and was signed as a model by Ford Models when she was 15 years old. She moved to New York City in 1972 and used to work at her brother’s theater group.
