Janet Jackson born as Janet Damita Jo Jackson is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and dancer. She is best known for sonically innovative, socially conscious and sexually provocative records, and elaborate stage shows.
She is the youngest child in Jackson’s family. She started her career with the variety television series The Jacksons in 1976 and went on to appear in other television shows throughout the 1970s and early 1980s. This includes Good Times and Fame. After she signed a recording contract with A&M Records in 1982, Janet became a pop icon following the release of her third and fourth studio albums Control (1986) and Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989). She collaborated with record producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. This incorporated elements of rhythm and blues, funk, disco, rap and industrial beats, which led to crossover success in popular music.
Janet signed the first of two record-breaking multimillion-dollar contracts with Virgin Records in 1991 ,establishing her as one of the highest-paid artists in the industry. Her fifth album named Janet (1993) saw her develop a public image as a sex symbol as she started to explore sexuality in her music. In the same year, she appeared in her first starring film role in Poetic Justice; she has since continued to act in feature films. She then released her sixth studio album The Velvet Rope (1997), which is distinguished for its innovative production and dark lyrical content.
She was named by Billboard magazine as the second most successful recording artist of the decade after Mariah Carey by the end of the 1990s. Janet’s seventh album All for You (2001) coincided with a celebration of her impact on the recording industry as the inaugural MTV Icon. After they split with Virgin Records, she released her tenth album Discipline (2008), her first and only album with Island Records. She partnered with BMG Rights Management in 2015 to launch her own record label, Rhythm Nation, and released her eleventh album Unbreakable the same year.

In June 2009, Jackson’s brother Michael died at age fifty. She spoke publicly concerning his death at the 2009 BET Awards, stating “I’d just like to say, to you, Michael is an icon, to us, Michael is family. And he will forever live in all of our hearts.
Whyte, stated that she and DeBarge’s mother did go get that DNA test done and she says she has the results to prove this is all legit.
“So, now it’s time for me to tell my truth,” she said. “Now that I got the DNA from my grandmother, that it is a possibility… No, it is for sure that they are my parents, she’s my grandmother, those [sic] are my family and it’s time for me to tell the truth.”
Tiffany also had a few words for those who claim she’s seeking fame and fortune.
“I don’t want to get famous off of this,” she said. “Trust me. I don’t. I don’t. I just want my mother. I want my father. I want the woman who I could never get a chance to be held by as a child, to sing to me, to tell me that she loves me. I want to know the truth.”
