Chris Matthews Biography
Chris Matthews born Christopher John Matthews is an American political commentator, talk show host, and author. He is best known for his nightly hour-long talk show, Hardball with Chris Matthews, on MSNBC.
Matthews hosted a syndicated NBC News–produced panel discussion program on weekends titled The Chris Matthews Show from 2002 to 2013. He frequently appears on other NBC and MSNBC news programs as well.

Matthews was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a son of Mary Teresa and Herb Matthews, a court reporter. His father was a protestant of English and Scots-Irish ancestry and his mother was from an Irish Catholic family. Chris is a Roman Catholic. He has a brother known as Jim Matthews who is a Republican, is a former county commissioner in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

Chris got married to his wife Kathleen Matthews in 1980 to who anchored News 7 on WJLA-TV, the ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C., before accepting a position as an executive vice president with Marriott International. The two have three children: Michael, Thomas, and Caroline. Matthews’s brother Jim Matthews, a Republican, is a former county commissioner in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
Chris was once hospitalized with malaria, which he evidently contracted on one of his visits to Africa in year 2002,. Apart from Malaria he has also had other health problems, including diabetes (which he acknowledged having on the Hardball broadcast of December 7, 2009) and pneumonia.
He is a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan, which he claims as “part of his soul”. On May 4 2014 Matthews was the commencement speaker at Ohio State University.

He enrolled in La Salle College High School. Matthews in 1967 he graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, and did graduate work in Economics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was also visiting Harvard University’s Institute of Politics.

This is an American television talk show on MSNBC, broadcast weekdays at 7 PM ET hosted by Chris Matthews. Hardball with Chris Matthews originally aired on now-defunct America’s Talking (as Politics with Chris Matthews) and later CNBC. This title was derived from a book Matthews wrote in 1988, Hardball: How Politics Is Played Told by One Who Knows the Game.
Hardball is a talking-head style cable news show, in which the moderator emphasizes opinions on a wide range of topics, focusing primarily on current political issues. The issues are discussed on a panel of guests that usually consists of political analysts and sometimes include politicians. Each episode is started by Matthew with a brief comment on a current story and follows it with the invitation, “Let’s play hardball.”This talk also runs in a “Best of” format Saturday mornings at 5 Am.

This is a half-hour weekend news and political round table program produced by NBC News. The Chris Matthews was taped in Washington, D.C., and nationally syndicated by NBCUniversal Television Distribution. This program was debuted on September 22, 2002 and its last episode aired July 21, 2013.
It is a program that is usually aired on Sunday mornings before or after the Sunday morning talk shows, usually on NBC affiliates or their sister stations.
Matthews was serving as the program’s moderator and was joined each week by a rotating group of four journalists. Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd both of NBC News,sometimes one of them would occasionally sit in for him.
Although he was also the host of MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews, the two programs were not sharing staffs outside of Matthews or editorial input, besides being recorded at NBC’s Washington facility. This program was converted to a high definition presentation in April 2013.
Later on April 30, 2013, he reported that he would be ending the show to focus more on Hardball and writing books. The final show aired July 21.
Chris Matthews Trump
Chris, MSNBC star compared President Trump’s supporters to dogs who are being trained to align with Russian President Vladimir Putin instead of NATO. Chris also aired footage of Trump speaking at a recent rally, where Trump was telling the crowd that NATO needs to begin paying its bills before predicting that his upcoming meeting with Putin wil be “fine.” However, Chris did not like what he heard from the president.
Chris stated that the president is taking Republican party, a grass roots party that’s spent 60, 70 years leading the war in the Cold war hating the Russians for all their aggressiveness in the world and taking over the countries on the border and being tyrannical the way they are now and he has those people cheering against Western Europe. Chris said “He’s dog-training these people.”

NBC cable network refused to share salary details with the New York times. Mathew net worth is not known though he is still making more or less $5 million per year as from Jan 22, 2011.

Chris Matthews Fired
Several news outlets in December 2017 reported that in 1999 Matthews was accused by a female assistant producer on his program for making inappropriate jokes and comments. Matthews was formally reprimanded by his employer CNBC and his accuser was awarded a $40,000 separation package settlement.
