Charlize Theron Biography
Charlize Theron is a South African-American actress and film producer. She is the recipient of several accolades. These includes an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and the Silver Bear for Best Actress.
In the 1990s Theron came to international prominence by playing the leading lady in the Hollywood films The Devil’s Advocate (1997), Mighty Joe Young (1998), and The Cider House Rules (1999). She received critical acclaim for her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster in 2003, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. She became the first South African to win an Oscar in a major acting category.
Theron received another Academy Award nomination for playing a sexually abused woman seeking justice in the drama North Country (2005). Since that time she has s starred in several top-grossing action films. These includes Hancock (2008), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), Prometheus (2012), Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), The Fate of the Furious (2017), and Atomic Blonde (2017). She also received credit for playing troubled women in Jason Reitman’s comedy-dramas Young Adult (2011) and Tully (2018).
Theron has ventured into film production with her company Denver and Delilah Productions since the early 2000s. She has produced a number of films, many of which she had a starring role in, including The Burning Plain (2008) and Dark Places (2015). In 2007 Theron became an American citizen , while retaining her South African citizenship. Time named her in 2016, in their annual Time 100 listing of the most influential people in the world.

Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen realized a comedy called Long Shot. While it seems like these two actors might make an odd pairing for a movie, it seems to work out great and it looks like they have a fun comedic chemistry with each other.
Lionsgate has released a new trailer for the film and it offers up some new funny footage, some of which might just bring you some laughs.
The film comes from Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and it also stars O’Shea Jackson Jr.

In spite of seeing herself as a dancer, Theron at 16 won a one-year modelling contract at a local competition in Salerno. Together with her mother moved to Milan, Italy. Theron spent a year modelling throughout Europe. Together with her mother moved to the US, both New York City and Miami. She joined the Joffrey Ballet School in New York, where she trained as a ballet dancer until a knee injury closed this career path. In 2008 as Theron recalled:
She went to New York for three days to model, and then She spent a winter in New York in a friend’s windowless basement apartment. She was broke, she was taking class at the Joffrey Ballet, and her knees gave out. She realized She couldn’t dance anymore, and She went into a major depression. Her mom came over from South Africa and said, ‘Either she figure out what to do next or she goes back home, because she can sulk in South Africa’.
Theron when she was 19 flew to Los Angeles, on a one-way ticket her mother bought for her, intending to work in the film industry. During the first months there, Theron went to a Hollywood Boulevard bank to cash a cheque her mother had sent to help with the rent. After the teller refused to cash it she engaged in a shouting match with him. When agent John Crosby who was waiting for her show this, talent he handed her his business card. Subsequently he introduced her to casting agents and also an acting school. She later fired him as her manager after he kept sending her scripts for films similar to Showgirls and Species.
After Theron spent several months in the city she made her film debut with a non-speaking role in the horror film Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest (1995). Her first speaking role was that of a hitwoman in 2 Days in the Valley (1996). Although it was a small role, a lingerie-clad Theron was prominently featured on the movie poster, and film offers for hot-chick parts quickly followed. But Theron turned them down. “A lot of people were saying, ‘You should just hit while the iron’s hot,’” she remarked. “But playing the same part over and over doesn’t leave you with any longevity. And I knew it was going to be harder for me, because of what I look like, to branch out to different kinds of roles.”
