Carly Rose Sonenclar is a Jewish-American singer and actress. She became the runner-up on The X Factor. Carly was in the second season of the American version. Having been held in December 2012. Eventually coming second to Tate Stevens.

Rose began her professional career in 2006. In a stage adaptation of The Night of the Hunter. Sonenclar was at the New York Musical Theatre Festival. She played the lead role of Pearl by that time. Also made her Broadway debut in Les Miserables. Here playing as Young Cosette. At the same time, Rose appeared in the national tour of Little House on the Prairie, the Musical. She was starring Melissa Gilbert, originating the principal role of Carrie. This was in 2009 just to mention.
Sonenclar appeared in Gilda Flip on PBS, making her television debut. Not to mention she was the newest Prankster in season three of The Electric Company. Having been produced by Sesame Workshop. Consequently, in the short-lived musical Wonderland in 2011, Sonenclar originated the role of Chloe (Alice’s daughter). She was on Broadway and the earlier Tampa workshop. Carly garnered good reviews as a result of this role. This including one by The New York Times theater critic Charles Isherwood. Charles described Sonenclar as a good actress and an “almost preternaturally skilled singer”.
She drew comparisons with Sutton Foster. Rose is a featured soloist on the cast CD produced by Sony Masterworks. She was named the 2011 Best Young Performer by broadwayworld.com. Later, Carly originated the lead role of Parsley in The Big Bank. This was a musical that debuted at the New York Musical Theater Festival in October 2011.
Sonenclar has also featured in two movies. The Nanny Diaries playing as the “child of nanny”. She was also given a small role in The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2. Moreover, she has made numerous TV guest appearances.

At the auditions, Sonenclar received a standing ovation from all four judges. L.A. Reid commented, “You may be 13, but your soul is old”. In addition, Simon Cowell awarded her “4,833 yes”. Advancing to the next round. 120 contestants auditioned at Bootcamp that day. Carly was among the sixty or so asked to continue on. She was chosen to be one of the six contestants in the “teens” category at the end. These were invited to perform at the “judges’ houses” stage of the competition.
It was revealed that she was the second-most-voted for in the competition so far, behind only Tate Stevens. This was at the Top 12 round. Similarly a distinction she achieved again after advancing to the Top 10 round.
The trend continued to the final. December 20, 2012, it was announced that she had finished the competition in second place behind Tate Stevens.

In 2013 Sonenclar stated that Syco Music has a recording option on her. She added that they were “trying to find the right record label” for her. Unforgettable was her debut original song. She performed it in June 2013. Similarly, she debuted another new song called Fighters. This was written by Sonenclar, Nikola Bedingfield and Shane Stevens.
Sonenclar performed at the opening ceremony of the 19th Maccabiah Games at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem the following month. Carly had busy consecutive months as in August 2013, she performed in New York City. This time at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square. As part of the Stand Up for a Cure 2013 Concert Series.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, “Dissonant Voices”, saw Sonenclar appear in an episode. It aired in November 2013, during the show’s fifteenth season. She has since performed on several occasions with Boyce Avenue. Sonenclar continued to attend public school in 2014. The same year she released an original music video, Everybody’s Watching. At Provident Bank Park in Pomona, New York concert in July 2014, she performed three original songs. Which were Aliens, Weekend and Everybody’s Watching.
Sonenclar was ranked fifth by Fox Weekly on May 29, 2014. This was the list of Most Influential X Factor USA Contestants for her audition performance of Feeling Good.
