On Friday January 15, 2021, Art shared to his fans his experience with Coid-19 where he said it was unfortunate that he had not been spared by the virus. He thanked all that were praying and walking with him through the journey to recovery, Art said he was isolated but due to the love given to him by his sweetheart, Patti, he was going on well and that he would recover quickly.

Being an Emmy award winning reporter, he joined ABC13 in September 1998, at the moment, he serves as an anchor of the 11am, 5pm and 6pm newscasts. Art has covered so major events ranging from conflicts and wars in Iraq, the Balkans, in most parts of Middle East, among others, he has travelled with scores of juvenile immigrants on their deadly trek to the U.S. border.
