Ana Belaval Biography

Ana Maria is an American journalist, presenter and reporter working with WGN Broadcasting.  Ana is also a stand-up Comedian. She started her career as a journalist started at Univision. Ana was a Spanish speaking general assignment weekend anchor and reporter for the Chicago affiliate. She later become a network correspondent based in New York and substitute host for Univision’s national morning show, “Despierta America”.

Ana joined Purto Rica then relocated to the Mainland United States to get a higher education and went to American University in Washington D.C  and graduated with Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. Ana is fluent speaker of both English and Spanish.

She works as an anchor for CLTV News as well as WGN Morning News. Ana worked as a general assignment reporter in the Chicago affiliate WGBO for 9 years at Univision prior to joining WGN Morning News. She again, in New York worked as a network correspondent for Univision’s national morning show.

She is a three-time Emmy Award winner and was nominated after her reporting series “Ana Lo Hace,” where she performed different jobs held by Hispanics in Chicago. Ana was also a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter in Chicago. She is also a Peter Lisagor Award finalist for the special story, anabelaval.com.
