Martin was awarded the title of Miss Golden Globe at the 1994 Golden Globe Awards. She is known for Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit in 1993, Strange as Angels in 2003 and American Intellectuals in 1999. Martin first appeared as an extra in The Color Purple IN 1985 with her mother (Whoopi Goldberg).
