Alex Jones (Alexander Emric Jones) is an American radio show host and conspiracy theorist. He is known for his work as the host of  The Alex Jones Show from Austin, Texas.  It   airs on the Genesis Communications Network across the United States and online.  He also runs a website, Infowars.com, devoted to conspiracy theories and fake news, and the websites NewsWars and PrisonPlanet.

Alex has been involved with many controversies, including his promotion of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting conspiracy theories,  and his aggressive opposition to gun control in a debate with Piers Morgan. Alex has accused the U.S. government of planning the Oklahoma City bombing, the September 11 attacks, and has claimed that the Moon landing footage was fake.

Alex has claimed that several governments and big businesses have colluded to create a “New World Order” through “manufactured economic crises, sophisticated surveillance tech and—above all—inside-job terror attacks that fuel exploitable hysteria”.

He describes himself as a conservative, paleoconservative and libertarian, terms he uses interchangeably.  He is described by others as conservative, right-wing, alt-right,  and far-right. He has also been described by New York magazine as”America’s leading conspiracy theorist”, and he is also described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as “the most prolific conspiracy theorist in contemporary America”. When asked about such labels, Alex said he is “proud to be listed as a thought criminal against Big Brother”.

Alex has three children with ex-wife Kelly Jones. They divorced in March 2015 .  Kelly sought sole or joint custody of their children due to her ex-husband’s behavior in 2017. She claimed “he’s not a stable person” and “I’m concerned that he is engaged in felonious behavior, threatening a member of Congress” (Adam Schiff). His attorney responded by claiming that “he’s playing a character” and describing him as a “performance artist”. On his show Alex  denied playing a character and he called his show “the most bona fide, hard-core, real McCoy thing there is, and everybody knows it”.  In court, he clarified that he generally agreed with his attorney’s statement, but that he disagreed with the media’s interpretation of the term “performance artist”. Kelly was awarded the right to decide where their children live while he maintains visitation rights.

Alex’s son, Rex Jones, has worked for InfoWars, receiving media attention for a video which was critical of gun control and BuzzFeed News.

It seems Alex Jones can’t be silenced on YouTube. He was able to keep his channel streaming live on YouTube despite receiving a warning for videos that violated the site’s policies. Channels that have a “strike” or warning against them are not allowed to live stream for 90 days. Accounts that receive three strikes in 90 days are terminated.

In spite of the fresh strike against his account, he was able to stream on through another channel belonging to Ron Gibson, who is affiliated with Jones’ InfoWars network.
